Girls’ Weekend to Houston, TX

Check out my vlog of my Girls’ Weekend to Houston, TX with my sister, McKlay, to see our friend, Elizabeth.

This is actually the first vlog BJ and I have ever created, and we are pretty impressed at how well it turned out by just using my iPhone to capture the highlights of my trip to Houston.

This trip was pretty spontaneous. My sister and I decided to go down to Houston to visit Elizabeth on a Thursday afternoon, and then left the next morning. It is only about a six hour drive from Central Arkansas to the Houston TX area, so it’s not that bad of a drive.

After getting there on Friday around 4:00, we were exhausted and hungry so we had a nice evening in and ordered Chinese food, but sadly McKlay got sick the next morning from food poisoning.

After McKlay had some time to recover from her sudden food-borne illness, we ate some lunch and headed out to the Boba Shop. This was my first time trying Boba and I thought it was AMAZING.

Next we drove around the Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, and eventually headed downtown to see Rice University and the Museum District. The Museum District was definitely my favorite place in downtown Houston!

After leaving downtown we went to Market Street in the Woodlands where we rushed around to find a restroom, and ate at Sweet Paris with Elizabeth’s friend Amanda. Afterward we rode the trolley around the Woodland Mall and then headed out to hang out with Amanda at her apartment complex’s pool.

On Sunday morning Elizabeth went to church and I was able to catch church online. When Elizabeth got home we did a little painting and then got ready to go eat dinner. Our original plan was Cheesecake Factory but we instead ate at Macaroni Grill because Cheesecake Factory had a one hour wait. After dinner we went back to Elizabeth’s and watched movies until 1 AM!

Due to our late night, Monday started off slow. Our plan was to go to the beach, but we decided against it, and decided to actually leave later that night instead of waking up early on Tuesday to head home. So our Monday was filled with having shakes and tea at Revive, shopping, and an early dinner at Cheesecake Factory (which we made reservations for).

After dinner we cruised around for a little bit, went back to the apartment, packed up, and hit the road a quarter to six. McKlay and I didn’t stop at all until we were an hour away from home (we had to get gas), so we made it home around Midnight.

While this trip was a spontaneous, it was so much fun and just what us three girls needed. I am already looking forward to going back sometime soon.

Thank you so much, Elizabeth, for hosting us and showing us around the Houston area. We love you!
